WELCOME TO PAUL AND TORREY'S CORNER!
As members of the Corner Club, you will receive updates about the club's activities and you will also receive the latest news on what Paul and Torrey are up to from Global Roots founder Rick Montgomery.
HELLO PTC MEMBERS!
I have just finished an aid mission and am just about to pack my bags for my annual migration from Italy to the USA. I am coming over to meet Torrey DeVitto in Portland, OR to give a presentation at my old high school.
I am going to set up an on-line chat session so that I can tell you more about what's happening! Look for my email very soon.
I love you all! Yes, that might sound a little strong but, believe me, when you've seen what I've seen out in the world, you can't help but feel a huge amount of emotion when so many young people step forward to help out!

Greetings members of Paul and Torrey's Corner. I thrilled to be back in Portland and to finally have some much-needed office time on Monday. Global Roots just moved into its first office in Northwest Portland and I will be there almost every afternoon from now until the end of March. Please drop by if you're ever in the neighborhood.
Did you hear the big news? Torrey is currently shooting with Paul on the set of Vampire Diaries in Atlanta! I'll tell you more about it soon. I will email you a much longer PRIVATE email when we gain our 20th member,

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. The Global Roots new home page is almost finished. Please send out a special email to everyone you know and ask them to watch the Global Roots "Short Film" on our home page at GlobalRoots.org.

Congrats to our newest members Kara and Jo! You each made multiple donations until you reached the $100 donation mark. Welcome to Paul and Torrey's Corner!
Our twenty members have donated more than three thousand dollars! This is a big deal when you consider that one of our children's gardens only costs $1,500.
2012 UPDATE
It's been a while my friends but I am back with all kinds of great news.
First of all, our coming service trip to Kenya is a go! We now have six participants in our first van which means we can afford the fuel to get us from Nairobi down to Tsavo, our costs on the ground in Tsavo and the price of a cook to prepare food for us a few times a day. Global Roots already has active projects on the ground in Tsavo so we will simply support these projects.
Moving on, I want to thank all of you for your ongoing donations. Several of you keep donating and we really appreciate it! Every time you donate, your overall amount goes up and for each incremental increase of $10 your name be written onto an index card and dropped into the hat. Our leader Tracy will have 36 cards in the hat! -- a much better chance to win the lucky draw. Tracy is currently the leader of the "Most Generous" but a past donor wrote me today that he has made another donation.
As for our club, it's past time that we all met on the Internet. My office assistant is currently setting up a "Webinair" or webcast so that we can all communicate on line. I have decided to host a Paul and Torrey Challenge. I'll tell you more in a private email about when our chat will be and what my challenge is all about!
Gotta run! We've just helped our local partners in Gaza and Afghanistan break ground on two children's gardens so I need to get back to work.
February Update
Greetings gang -- I am thrilled to report that we've just started to install 150 solar lights in 150 previously unlit homes in Kenya. Please go to the front page to read about this and other current events. The home page was completely rennovated to include all kinds of new features. Paul and Torrey are thanked for their "outreach" work in the "thank you" section. I am meeting the most amazing young volunteers because of Paul and Torrey. I have met all of you because of them and we've seen over 10K in new donations!
March Update (revised)
Hey Y'all. Just back from an aid mission. I am exhausted and frustrated. Why are there so many bad people out there who exploit children? It's hard to lift myself up again after witnessing the needless starvation of a child or the severe mental wounds afflicted on abandoned children who have nobody to hug or kiss them.
Thank God for Global Roots! We are giving a few thousand of the world's most desperate children a chance for a better life. We are doing all we can to give each child we support a "sense of self" and "right and wrong" so that they can resist and oppose the corruptive forces in their dysfunctional environments.
I am now back in my home town of Portland, Oregon and, whenever I come home, I always feel so lucky. We are all sooooo lucky!
The donation deadline is tonight and we are very excited to announce the two winners. Paul and Torrey will tweet the winners names out on Sat night and I will list it on the top of this page.
Yo Michelle -- THANKS FOR CATCHING MY TYPOS TODAY! I am still a little depressed about the horrible things I saw on my most recent aid trip -- and this has led to a level of distraction. People like you, Paul, Torrey and all of the donors above are helping me to stay in the moment. There is so much we have to do. So much we must do...but so little time.
Thank you all very much. I hope you know that you have won even if you're name is not drawn. You will always know that your donation has gone to help children in need.
Peace be with all of you.
Rick Montgomery -- founder -- GR
