Name: Eddie Isaac
Location: Tanzania
Achievements: Born and raised in Arusha, I grew up in a family of four, where everyone
called me Twiga, the Swahili word for giraffe (because I couldn't pronounce
the named well as a child). My love for wildlife began when my mother took
me on family visits to the Ngorongoro area, and they noticed my attention to
the animals. My uncle began to bring me National Geographic magazines every
week so that I could feed my love.
That eventually led me Tourism College in Nairobi. After that I enjoyed a
career in short nature walks, hikes, rock climbing, canoeing and village
walks guiding. Many of these adventures took me to the famous Mto-Wa-Mbu
village, comprising about 120 different tribes in Tanzania, Lake Manyara
National Park and Game drives in several parks in the northern circuit of
Tanzania including Ruaha national park.
I've been guiding with now for a few years and am now based at Ngorongoro
Crater Lodge, after working at Grumeti and Kleins in the Serengeti for a few
months, and a while in the Masai Mara, Kenya.
My biggest passion is the illusive leopard. I've contributed extensively to
Wildwatch Annuals, and love writing stories about my adventures in the bush"
