WHY WE EXIST

In too many places, girls are denied education, exposed to violence, and trapped in poverty-not because they lack potential. but because they lack opportunity.
We exist to change that.
We go where the need is greatest, stay for the long haul, and build programs that protect girls, educate them, and help their families thrive. When girls rise, entire communities rise with them.

OUR STORY
Global Roots was founded in the United States with a simple belief: every child deserves hope.
2006
Our first partnership brings relief and education to children in crisis affected communities.
2010
2013
We launch our first learning centers for girls in Afghanistan.
We launch our Kenya program focused on girls protection, education, and family resilience.
2016
We expand our food security and livelihoods programs to help families become stronger and more self reliant.
2021
We serve thousands of girls and families across Afghanistan and Kenya…and we're just getting started!
